Red Velvet Cupcakes!

I believe this recipe came from Simply Recipes?...  Anyway I'll add the link in after I'm done with this MaxiPrep.  Loved the cupcakes though!

Back

So I'm back and at it again.  I am vowing to do better when it comes to keeping up with my blog.  Over the past few months I have started 3 different blogs and it's very difficult to manage them.  I am planning to make cupcakes tonight - so they'll be up here!

Apple Pie...My oh my!

Last night I made an apple pie using... (enter suspenseful music) apple pie filling. And what a bad idea that was. It was way too runny. So today, I am planning on making another one from scratch.

In about an hour or so, I'll start on my pie crust. This should be exciting as I just bought a pastry cutter two days ago. I promise pictures of this one. I have to find a cool apple pie recipe though. (And I don't like nuts)

More Pictures

My attempt at some cupcake frosting techniques. It's only my first time.

This bread was so tasty! Unfortunately my forever rude best friend told me that it looked like an Ugg boot, and she would never taste it. How discouraging?

This is a cake I baked for a friend's birthday. It was just a box cake. Blah.

Caramel Cake

My next adventure will be to the land of caramel cake. I came across the recipe on The Fabulous Life of I Dot's blog.

Recipe:Yellow Cake -
3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 cup milk
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Caramel Icing -
1 lb (2 3/4 cups) light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
7 tbsp evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla

It looks like a real headcaver (extra sweet)! So I think I may try to do something different with the icing. I'll put up photos later!

My New Gadget!

So over the holidays I got a new surprise!
A KitchenAid KSM150!
See the pictures below...

My first sin of sweet sugary goodness will be a Sour Cream Pound Cake. This is a recipe I found at my grandma's house.

Sour Cream Pound Cake
2 sticks margarine
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
3 cups flour (plain)
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

Cook at 325 degrees Farenheit for 2 hours

So I just recently tasted the cake... When I sliced it there was a big ripple going throughout. What is that all about? Any ideas? Plus it was a little dry. I think I will try making something different tonight.

Here is the sad streak in my cake --->
